Aftercare
The healing process takes about four weeks.
Be patient and follow instructions carefully.
Avoid direct sunlight and do not apply sunscreen while it is healing.
Do not soak your healing tattoo in water or engage in activities that will cause you to sweat excessively.
Keep pets away from your tattoo and handle it with clean hands.
Use non-scented ointments like Cetaphil, Aquaphor, or Vitamin A & D lotion to moisturize your tattoo while it is healing.
If you suspect your tattoo is infected, seek medical attention immediately.
If using a second skin to protect your tattoo, leave it on no more than 2-4 days and avoid strenuous exercise or sweating.
After removing the second skin:
Wash your tattoo twice a day using antibacterial soap and apply a thin layer of ointment.
Avoid excessive exercise, keep your tattoo clean, and protect it.
After one week, your tattoo may start to appear flaky, avoid picking at it.
Your tattoo is fully healed when it stops flaking and becomes flat. If you have concerns, email the tattoo artist a clear photo of your healed tattoo.

The First Day
"For the first day after getting your tattoo, if a second skin was applied, you don't have to worry about much. Just make sure that the second skin isn't torn or coming off. If a second skin wasn't applied, follow these steps:
-
When you get home, carefully remove the temporary wrap from your tattoo.
-
Wash the tattooed area gently with unscented soap and water. Avoid rubbing or scratching the area.
-
After washing, pat the area dry with a clean towel or let it air dry naturally.
-
If needed, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion to the tattooed area once it is completely dry.
Remember, whether a second skin was applied or not, it's important to avoid rubbing or scratching the tattoo during the healing process. Following these instructions will help ensure proper healing and the longevity of your tattoo."
Healing Process
-
Cleansing and Moisturizing: Once you remove the initial bandage, it's important to gently cleanse the tattooed area with mild, unscented soap and lukewarm water. Pat the area dry with a clean towel or let it air dry. Afterward, apply a thin layer of fragrance-free and alcohol-free moisturizer or tattoo-specific aftercare product recommended by your tattoo artist. Repeat this cleansing and moisturizing routine 2-3 times a day during the healing process.
-
Peeling and Itching: After a few days, the tattooed area may start to peel, similar to a sunburn. This is a natural part of the healing process as the skin regenerates. It's crucial not to pick or scratch at the peeling skin, as it can affect the appearance of the tattoo and potentially lead to infection.
-
Scabbing and Flaking: As the tattoo continues to heal, scabs may form over the tattooed area. It's important to let these scabs naturally detach on their own, without forcefully removing them. Additionally, the tattoo might experience flaking, where small pieces of colored skin may come off. Avoid excessive touching, scratching, or picking at the scabs or flakes.
-
Fading and Settling: Over time, the tattoo might appear slightly faded or dull. This is normal during the healing process. As the skin fully heals, the tattoo's colors should regain their vibrancy. It's important to note that the final appearance of the tattoo may take several weeks to fully settle.
-
Complete Healing: The entire healing process of a tattoo usually takes around 2-4 weeks. However, it's important to remember that healing times can vary based on individual factors, such as tattoo size, location, and personal healing capabilities.

Special Attention
"During the healing process, it's crucial to protect your tattoo from direct sunlight, refrain from itching or scratching the area, as these factors significantly impact the healing process. Direct sunlight can fade and damage the tattoo, so it's important to keep it shielded from UV rays. Additionally, resist the urge to scratch or itch the tattoo, as this can lead to irritation, scarring, and potential infection. By avoiding direct sunlight, itching, and scratching, you will promote optimal healing and ensure the long-lasting beauty of your tattoo."
